Radamel Falcao Transfer News: Manchester United Have Agreed Nani Plus £20m For Falcao Deal In Principle

  on

In the last few days, everybody in the media is reporting on a transfer story from Marca, the Spanish sports newspaper. That deal was that Manchester United had already made a down payment for the transfer of Radamel Falcao; the transfer would cost around £40m. Initial reports suggested that Manchester United could offer Javier Hernandez as part of the deal; however, my sources at Old Trafford have disputed this and told me the real deal that has been put to Atletico Madrid for the striker.

The original buyout clause in Falcao`s contract with Atletico Madrid was around €50m, that is around £42m. However, the deal I have been told is that Manchester United have offered £20m plus Nani. Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez both have reasons to be unhappy this season, with Rooney upset at being left out of the FA Cup match against Chelsea and Hernandez unhappy about being on the bench all the time. However, Sir Alex Ferguson has made it clear that both Rooney and Hernandez feature in his future plans, whereas Nani is still stalling over his contract talks.

Moreover, Nani`s form has been shocking this season and his performance against Chelsea was the final straw for Sir Alex who has decided to pull the trigger as far as Nani is concerned. Atletico actually made an enquiry about Nani when United were in negotiations over the David De Gea transfer a couple of years ago, but nothing came of it at the time, as Nani`s form was good at the time.

Whilst it is not yet clear whether any funds have passed between Manchester United and Atletico Madrid, one thing is for sure; Nani`s future at Old Trafford will not go beyond this season and neither will Falcao’s at Atletico. Pundits have expressed concern that United would have two players in the same position of striker, but they forget that Cole and Yorke, the scourge of the Premier League in the late 90s were perfect together. Great players can play in most positions, so that idea can be ditched without much further consideration.

Sir Alex will make the move early in the transfer window, so watch this space.
