Ray Lewis And Brian Cushing Injuries: Will Loss Of Texans' Rising Star Or Ravens' Veteran Leader Hurt More?

The past two weeks in the NFL two of the top teams in the AFC. During week five the Texans suffered the lost of linebacker Brian Cushing from a torn ACL . Cushing had 29 tackles, one force fumble, and one interception (0 sacks) this season. Cushing has become one of the Texan's main defensive stars in his fourth season with the Texans. The Texans started the this season 5-0 for the first time in franchise history, looking to be one of the top teams in the AFC and making a run at  Super Bowl XLVII.

During week 6 in the NFL the Ravens suffered the lost of Veteran Linebacker Ray Lewis to a torn triceps. This season Lewis made 57 tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble(0 interceptions). The Ravens are one of the top teams in the AFC looking to make another run at the Super Bowl after a disappointing ending in the playoffs last year.

Who will be the biggest lost for their team?

Without any doubt Lewis will have the biggest effect for his team. When speaking of Lewis he must be acknowledge as a future Hall of Famer and the greatest leader of any sport to a team. Lewis is the "heart" of the defense, leader, motivator, and caption of the team. Cushing may be a rising star in the NFL with plenty potential but he doesn't have the experience or the leadership that Lewis has. Cushing shouldn't be brought up in the same sentence as of right with Lewis plain and simple.

The Ravens and Texans play against each other this weekend. Each defense plays against two elite running backs in Arian Foster and Ray Rice. This game will not only determine the best team in the AFC but will also show which defense was more affected by injury of a player.
