Brazil starlet Casemiro has signed a permanent deal with Real Madrid after the club activated his €6 million release clause.
The 21-year-old joined the Spanish giants on loan in January and made his Liga debut in a 3-1 victory over Real Betis at the Santiago Bernabeu April 19, reports Xinhua.
The club released an official statement on their website to confirm the news, revealing that the player has penned a four-year deal with last season's Liga runners-up after they opted to activate his €6 million release clause at Sao Paulo.
Attacking midfielder Casemiro, who has 15 caps to his name for the Brazil Under-20 side, becomes Madrid's second signing of the summer after full-back Dani Carvajal rejoined from Bayer Leverkusen.
According to Marca.com, "The club also announced that the footballer "will stay at the club as a member of the first-team squad for the next four seasons", stating that the former Sao Paulo man will be moved up from Alberto Toril's side to the BBVA league first team."
So, the question now is whether or not he will be a star player for Real Madrid. I guess will find out next season.
