Real Madrid News: Luka Modric Yet To Settle In Spain, While Michal Essien Feels At Home

Luka Modric raked up a transfer storm in the Premier League with no shortage of suitors. After a year or so of incessant transfer speculation, he finally made an anticipated move to Spanish giants Real Madrid, for 29 million pounds or so. Life could not have been any better for the diminutive midfielder who had established himself as one of the best talents on show in the premier league.

Although it is early days at Santiago Bernabeu, his impact at Real is akin to Kaka than Cristiano Ronaldo. He has yet to play a full match for Real Madrid and has often found himself on the substitute's bench at Real. In contrast, Michael Essien, the forgotten man at Chelsea has found a new lease of life at the spanish club. The 29-year-old Ghanian all action midfielder preferred a loan move to Real, to re-unite with his 'father' , Jose mourinho. The 'Special One' recognises the skills Essien brings to the table and has afforded him with much needed game time in a squad full of internationals.

Mourinho has words of advice for Modric though. He believes Modric needs to work on the tactical side of his game. Besides, he thinks Modric needs some time to adjust to the playing style of his new team-mates. Mourinho was quoted, "There are many things he has to learn to do as a team member, which some people ignore and some others know but pretend they do not. Let the kid alone, let him grow within the team little by little. He is a terrific player. I believe that the Bernabeu fans have already had a taste of what a great player he is, but now leave him alone." Real fans will surely wait for the real Modric to turn up and when that happens he is truly a sight to behold. Tottenham fans would testify to that.
