Fischer is a Danish international as he made his senior appearance for the Scandinavian earlier this year. Before that, he was in the under 16, 17, 19 and 21 for Denmark where he scored a combined number of 27 goals in 47 games. No wonder Denmark wanted him to make his senior debut. As Fischer joined the Ajax youth system, he attracted attention from the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Inter Milan. But Fischer made his Ajax debut this season and since he has played five games, scoring two goals.
Now contract talks have halted and Fischer is attracting the attention of even bigger clubs in Manchester United and Real Madrid. But which club should he join and which club needs his services?
Let’s face it, Real Madrid are struggling. They currently sit in 3rd place in La Liga and a massive eight points behind Atletico Madrid. Perhaps a new star is needed to accompany the lonely Ronaldo. Fischer has actually been dumbed as the next Michael Laudrup by some columnists so don’t think that Fischer isn’t the key to Madrid’s problems. But obviously a huge raft of players would need to be shifted off before we start to talk about Madrid challenging for the title again.
Every time I write an article like this, where Manchester United are mentioned or linked with a striker, I say the same thing. The current stock of players: Rooney, RvP, Hernandez and Welbeck are brilliant and don’t really need changing. However Welbeck is constantly being used as a wide player as Young and Nani aren’t performing. Does this mean another star striker is needed? It would almost certainly guarantee United the title but I would be wary about Ferguson making such a signing. He has already signed Henriquez as the next “star” so I think the void is well and truly filled.
