According to TalkSport, Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has his eye on Fulham's creative midfielder Moussa Dembele and is ready to trigger the players £15 million release clause.

Both Manchester United and Chelsea were interested in the Belgium international during this summers transfer window, but Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted there will not be any more arrivals at Old Trafford this week, with Chelsea buying Oscar Dos Santos instead, Spurs move for Demebele is now unopposed.

Already confirming the signing of Emanuel Adabayor from Manchester City, Villas-Boas wants to add to their attacking midfield options and see's Demebele as the perfect versatile option.

25-year-old Dembele has swarms of admirers in the football world and he has continued to impress during his spell in the English Premier League. He is part of Belgium's international coaching revolution joining an excellent squad of young Belgium players making it big on the world stage.

With Tottenham set to lose midfielder Luka Modric, there will be a hole to fill in the middle of the park, someone to sit in there and pull the strings.

Fulham will be keen to put off any interest from Spurs as they have done all summer, but with the reported release clause only being £15 million, Spurs will be prepared to meet that price. With only one year remaining on Demebele's contract, they could be prepared to cash in on him while they can.

With one week remaining in the transfer window, Tottenham will have to make their move sooner rather than later.
