With the January transfer window just less than one month away, the rumour mill is in overdrive.
Over the past few days, it was reported on various social networking sites that Manchester United were planning to submit a bid for Everton’s Leighton Baines in the month-long window; however, the left-back has squashed any such rumours.
"I'm not that into Twitter but I would say not to be worried," Baines told Sky Sports News.
"There have been a few windows and a few rumours and there's nothing to worry about.
He further added, "There are a lot of lads here who have been at the club for a long time now and we want to bring it not just for ourselves and our own ambitions but for the other people at the club, the manager, the chairman, the fans. It would be a massive achievement for us if we could get those European nights back at Goodison.

Baines himself has been the backbone of his club’s success so far, providing an astonishing amount of creativity from the left flank and forming a formidable partnership with both Steven Pienaar and Kevin Mirallas.
His addition to the United team could have helped them push out the ageing Patrice Evra, who has put in horrendous defensive showing over the past 12 months or so. The Red Devils’ overall defensive displays too have been way below-par this term and it’s been largely due to their phenomenal strikers that they are sitting at the top of Premier League ladder.919251
