UEFA Champions League Preview And Where To Watch Online: Chelsea vs FC Nordsjaelland

Chelsea vs Nordjaelland was an expected thrashing for the English club. The UEFA Champions League holders beat the Danes by four goals to nil. We weren’t expecting The Danish club to cause an upset but we thought they might’ve scored at least one goal.

Unfortunately for the English Premier League, Chelsea are out of this year’s tournament already. After Di Matteo failed to get wins in Turin against Juventus and in Ukraine against Shakhtar Donetsk, Chelsea made it impossible for them to qualify.

Comparably, Nordjaelland are also out of this year’s Champions League. They currently have one point and expected losses to Chelsea, Juventus and Shakhtar Donetsk. Amazingly the Danish side actually drew to Juventus in their first leg. But that was just a mere glimmer of hope which raised the hopes of Nordjaelland fans for a week or two.

Chelsea can have qualified for the Europa League and it’s impossible for Nordjaelland to qualify. One might expect a boring game as both clubs don’t need wins but Rafa Benitez has to prove himself before Abramovich decides to hand him his P45. Rafa is stubborn enough to play Fernando Torres as he’s keen to get him scoring again. This will basically be a training ground match for the English side and they will want to impress.

Chelsea currently sit in third place in the Barclays Premier League but they are so far off the pace of the Manchester clubs, they probably won’t catch them. The fans are obviously very upset but Abramovich wasn’t happy with the form of Di Matteo’s side. Benitez is a brilliant coach and will almost certainly regain Chelsea’s form with the amazing squad that Chelsea has.

Nordjaelland currently sit in second place, nine points behind Copenhagen. You can tell that their Champions League campaign has almost certainly impacted on their league equivalent. Equally, the Danish club haven’t performed very well at all in Europe as they have only scored three goals, all from different players.

Although Chelsea haven’t been as free scoring as they’d hoped but Oscar is the top scorer of their Champions League campaign with four goals. Torres will be very, very eager to start scoring again otherwise, Abramovich will be looking to swap him in January with Atletico Madrid’s Falcao.
