The lead actresses in “Spring Breakers” -- Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Benson -- can be seen in the trailer partying, boozing and at one point, even standing before a judge in a courtroom in just a bikini. The stars made up for their lack of clothing in the film by dressing to the nines Thursday night at the movie premiere in Hollywood.

The highly buzzed-about film follows four college students who, out of desperation, commit a robbery in order to get enough money to go on spring break, in which a booze-, crime-, sex- and drug-filled bender ensues.

Disney darling Selena Gomez, who has garnered some slack from fans for starring in the racy film, told Reuters that she needed a change of pace from her “Wizards of Waverly Place” days.

“I’m just trying to do the best I can, and I wanted to do something that was really creatively an outlet for me to really be liberated,” said Gomez.

Fellow Disney alumni, “High School Musical” lead Vanessa Hudgens, who in spite of her previously squeaky-clean film career, portrays a character who engages in an outdoor threesome with teen-favorite Ashley Benson of “Pretty Little Liars” and Oscar nominee James Franco.

Hudgens said filming, which according to Rolling Stone took place during an actual spring break in St. Petersburg, Fla., last year, was a unique experience.

“I don’t think anything could ever prepare you for working with Harmony Korine. I mean he’s a special director. He does his own thing every day. … It was fun. It was liberating. It kept us on our toes,” said Hudgens.

Director Harmony Korine told the magazine that he used Skrillex music and day-glow colors in hopes that it would make audiences feel like they’re have a drug-induced movie- viewing experience.

“The whole vibe was so furious and frenetic. … It had a chaos to it. A kind of sinister mania,” he said.

The film generated a generous amount of buzz after winning the Special Mention-Future Film Festival Digital Award at the Venice Film Festival in September, but early reviews of the flick are unfavorable.

USA Today called the film exploitative to excess, saying there is so much debauchery that it’s more tedious than titillating, while MTV claimed the film is a “cinematic version of a parent’s worst nightmare”.

“Spring Breakers” is rated R and opens in theaters on March 22.
