The Indiana State Fair concert turned into mayhem when a massive storm broke down the stage on Saturday night, killing at least four and injuring 24, according to officials.

The Indianapolis Department of Public Safety tweeted immediately after the incident saying that 24 people had been taken to area hospitals. However, according to two local hospitals, at least 43 people were injured when the Hoosier Lottery Grandstand stage collapsed, CNN reported.

Capt. Brad Weaver, commander of special operations for the Indiana State Police, said that at around 8:45 p.m. he went to the stage and warned the audience of the bad weather. Just a few minutes after that, the stage was blown onto the front row by massive winds.

Three children were reportedly admitted to Riley Hospital for Children and eights adults were taken to Methodist Hospital for Indianapolis. As many as 17 patients, including children and adults, have been admitted to Wishard Memorial Hospital, New York Times reported.

The incident took place after Sara Bareilles had finished her performance. At 10:30, she posted on Twitter: "I'm speechless and feel so helpless. Please send love and prayers to Indianapolis tonight. My heart aches for the lives lost."

Many people have started tweeting about the heartbreaking incident, delivering prayers for the victims.
