The popular Angry Birds game franchise has gone to space -- and its next move could be to a galaxy far, far away.

Rovio Entertainment Ltd., the company behind Angry Birds, brought the puzzle video game's Tumblr blog up-to-date on Friday to include a suggestive GIF. The animated image featured an angry bird wearing Jedi robes like those in the “Star Wars” films and brandishing the movie series’ most notable weapon, a lightsaber.

“Times Square, New York, October 8th, 10am EST [sic],” reads the cryptic text below the image post. “HINT: Head to Toys R Us at 8am EST [sic]!”

There are no reports whether this means there will be a “Star Wars” edition of Angry Birds. C/Net noted that since the event will be taking place at Toys 'R' Us, the blog post could refer to “Star Wars”-themed plush toys. Meanwhile, IGN reported Hasbro may be involved in Angry Birds crossover with “Star Wars,” although it pointed out that this is unconfirmed.
