The next installment in the Star Wars sci-fi franchise will be shot in the U.K. according to a recent report.

Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy said the firm reached an agreement with George Osborn, who heads Britain's Treasury, to make "Star Wars: Episode VII" within the island nation's borders.

Lucasfilm, the studio behind the Star wars franchise, was acquired by Disney in October 2012 for $4 billion. Shortly after buying Lucasfilm, Disney announced plans to create multiple new Star Wars films.

News of the acquisition and new Star Wars films was met with mixed reaction from Star Wars fans. Recent reports indicated that Disney planned to release a new Star Wars film every year starting in 2015.
