The holidays are officially here: on Thursday Valve officially kicked off its Steam Holiday sale. This means that PC gamers will be getting a significant discount on a variety of Steam titles.
Steam will be offering daily deals, flash sales and catalog discounts through Jan. 5 to ring in the New Year. Although this is an annual tradition for the computer-based gaming platform, Steam’s Holiday sale will be getting a new feature. This year fans will be introduced to a voting system that will allow “gamers to vote on a select game to go on sale” every 12 hours.
In addition, players are now able to add games to their wish lists to receive notifications through Steam Mobile or email when those titles go on sale. Today’s deals include a sale on “Mirror’s Edge” for $4.99, “Scribblenautszz Unlimited” for $19.99 and up to 75 percent discounts on franchise packs for titles such as “Borderlands,” “Prince of Persia” and “Hitman.”
