The upcoming debate between Jon Stewart and Bill O’Reilly should make for one of the most exciting moments of the 2012 campaign season – certainly more entertaining the Wednesday night’s painfully boring presidential debate.

On Wednesday’s episode of “The Daily Show,” Stewart sought a mentor for the upcoming “rumble” -- and who better fulfill that role than Stephen Colbert? The popular satirist noted that Colbert is the ideal stand in for the über conservative O’Reilly.

“Who could possibly stand in for a man like the Papa Bear (Colbert’s name for O’Reilly),” Stewart asked, “a right-wing traditionalist who isn’t afraid to speak his mind? An American who loves his country even more than he loves himself -- and he really loves himself quite a bit?”

Colbert was carried on stage by two half naked men wearing skintight American flag pants and began shamelessly plugging his new book “America Again: Re-becoming the Greatness We Never Weren't.”

Colbert then shared an assortment of rules that Stewart must follow in order to triumph over O’Reilly.

Some highlights include:

“Never compliment your opponent.”

“Remember the Debate ABCs…always be attacking!”

“Never admit that your opponent is right even--and especially if--he is.”

“Never, never let someone interrupt you.”

Throughout the segment, both funnymen repeatedly broke character--especially when Colbert introduced a chicken named Clucker Carlson into the mix.

Colbert informed Stewart that in order to defeat O’Reilly, he would have to catch the chicken, wash his car with it and then “absorb its soul” by turning it into a Chick-fil-A sandwich.

On Tuesday “The Colbert Report” host told Good Morning America that O’Reilly doesn’t stand a chance against his former colleague.

"Jon Stewart will eat Bill O'Reilly's liver with some fava beans... and a nice chianti," he said.

This isn’t the first time Stewart and O’Reilly have gone head-to-head. The “O’Reilly Factor” host has appeared on “The Daily Show” a total of four times—in 2004, 2008, 2010, and 2011. Stewart appeared on O’Reilly’s show just last month and in 2004 and 2011.

Stewart famously gave the antagonistic FOX commentator a teddy bear and hot chocolate in order to calm him down during the 2008 Presidential election. During Stewart’s 2011 visit to O’Reilly’s show, the two got into a heated debate over rapper Common’s visit to the White House. By the end of the segment, O’Reilly told Stewart, “I think I’m going to commit suicide.”

Stewart and O'Reilly are set to debate for 90 minutes at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. on Saturday. The sold out showdown, which will be moderated by CNN’s E.D Hill, will be streamed life at TheRumble2012.com for $4.95. Half of the proceeds will go to charity.
