Television host Stephen Colbert and singing sensation Justin Bieber are expanding their publishing reach with more books.

Colbert is coming out with a children's book titled I Am a Pole (And So Can You!) and another book -- this one for grown-ups -- titled America Again: Re-Becoming the Greatness We Never Weren't, The Associated Press reported.

The children's book is about a flag pole with an identity crisis that has to figure out its own purpose for being.

The title is a play on a previous work Colbert published in 2007, titled I Am America (And So Can You!).

Colbert mentioned the children's book in an interview he did on The Colbert Report with Maurice Sendak, author of Where the Wild Things Are.

Both of Colbert's new tomes will be published by Grand Central Publishing. I Am a Pole is scheduled to hit bookstores on May 8 and America Again will come out in October, The AP reported.

I hope the minutes you and your loved ones spend reading it are as fulfilling as the minutes I spent writing it, Colbert said in a statement about the children's book.

As for Bieber, he inked another book deal with HarperCollins, The AP reported.

Justin Bieber: Just Getting Started is scheduled for a September release and will go into his experiences in acting, recording and touring. He previously published First Step 2 Forever: My Story in 2010.

The Bieber book news comes after HarperCollins inked another major deal: The memoir of Amanda Knox. That book is scheduled for a 2013 release, according to The AP.

Watch Colbert poke fun at his own book -- and his interview with Sendak.
