Singer Steven Bernard Hill was taken off a Massachusetts stage Friday night and arrested for owing $420,000 in child support, police told the media.

According to The Associated Press, the 1990 chart-topping love song singer from Las Vegas was performing on tour at the MassMutual Center. He performs as Stevie B and is best known for the song Because I Love You (The Postman Song). That song reached No. 1 in late 1990.

Springfield police Sgt. John M. Delaney told the Springfield Republican that the arrest surprised Hill who is now concerned that he might not make it for a weekend show in Providence, Rhode Island. Hill's arraignment is scheduled for Monday.

Police were uncertain if he had an attorney, according to The AP.
