(REUTERS) -- Stock index futures briefly added to gains on Wednesday after a report showed the pace of job creation by U.S. private employers accelerated more than expected in February.

S&P 500 futures rose 5.2 points and were above fair value, a formula that evaluates pricing by taking into account interest rates, dividends and time to expiration of the contract. Dow Jones industrial average futures added 55 points and Nasdaq 100 futures rose 10.5 points.

Futures were trading higher a day after Wall Street suffered its worst selloff in three months.
