U.S. stock index futures briefly trimmed losses on Thursday after data showed initial jobless claims fell in latest week.

S&P 500 futures slipped 3.1 points and were slightly below fair value, a formula that evaluates pricing by taking into account interest rates, dividends and time to expiration on the contract. Dow Jones industrial average futures fell 16 points, and Nasdaq 100 futures fell 7.75 points.
