U.S. stock index futures briefly added to gains on Thursday but still pointed to a flat open after Goldman Sachs Group reported fourth-quarter results.

S&P 500 futures rose 0.3 of a point and were above fair value, a formula that evaluates pricing by taking into account interest rates, dividends and time to expiration on the contract. Dow Jones industrial average futures gained 8 points and Nasdaq 100 futures fell 0.25 point.
