Stock index futures held gains on Thursday following a report showing the number of workers filing new applications for jobless benefits fell last week to the lowest level in about 17 months.

S&P 500 futures rose 1.9 points and were above fair value, a formula that evaluates pricing by taking into account interest rates, dividends and time to expiration on the contract. Dow Jones industrial average futures added 19 points, and Nasdaq 100 futures added 1.25 points.
