U.S. stocks trimmed gains and were little changed on Tuesday after hitting 13-month highs in the previous session, while Home Depot Inc fell after it said its markets were under pressure.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> slipped 5.59 points, or 0.05 percent, to 10,401.37. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was off 1.07 points, or 0.10 percent, to 1,108.23. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> dipped 1.25 points, or 0.06 percent, to 2,196.60.
