U.S. stocks rose at the open on Monday, boosted by AIG's deal to sell its life insurance unit in Asia and signs that Greece might be nearing a bailout deal with European Union governments.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was up 51.47 points, or 0.50 percent, at 10,376.73. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> rose 6.00 points, or 0.54 percent, at 1,110.49. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> gained 15.48 points, or 0.69 percent, at 2,253.74.
