U.S. stocks opened higher on Tuesday, led by gains in healthcare stocks and McDonald's Corp , which was upgraded to an outperform rating by Credit Suisse.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was up 14.14 points, or 0.13 percent, at 10,623.79. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> rose 2.19 points, or 0.19 percent, at 1,138.22. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> gained 9.34 points, or 0.41 percent, at 2,297.33.
