Stocks have come off their intraday highs during late morning trading on Thursday, although they remain mostly positive.

Transportation and retail stocks are leading the advance, with the Dow Jones Transportation Average up 4.1 percent and the S&P Retail Index up 3.7 percent.

Meanwhile, banking and real estate stocks are doing their best to subdue the gains. The S&P Banks Index is down 2.3 percent, while the Morgan Stanley REIT Index is down 1.2 percent.

Currently, the Dow is up 35.84 at 7,785.65, the Nasdaq is up 23.12 at 1,552.07, and the S&P 500 is up 5.08 at 818.96.
