RTTNews - Stocks moved lower at the start of trading on Friday, with the major averages pulling back into negative territory after ending the previous session modestly higher. Nonetheless, the markets did not see much follow-through on the initial downward move.

Losses by energy stocks contributed to the initial weakness, with a drop in oil prices generating some selling pressure. While metal, utilities, and drug stocks are also moving lower, some strength has emerged among technology stocks.

In the past few minutes, the major averages have bounced well off their lows for the young session, with the Nasdaq climbing into positive territory. The Nasdaq is currently up 3.75 at 1,756.30, the Dow remains down 26.30 at 8,156.87 and the S&P 500 is down 3.38 at 879.30.
