RTTNews - Stocks have moved mostly higher in early trading on Tuesday, regaining some ground after ending the previous session sharply lower. While bargain hunting has contributed to the initial strength, buying interest has remained subdued.

After helping to lead the way lower in the previous session, resource stocks are turning in some of the best performances amid a rebound by commodities prices. Banking and transportation stocks are also seeing early strength, while some defense stocks have come under pressure.

While the Dow has underperformed due to a steep loss by Boeing (BA), the major averages are currently all in positive territory. The Dow is currently up 10.65 at 8,349.66, the Nasdaq is up 9.73 at 1,775.92 and the S&P 500 is up 4.04 at 897.08.
