Stocks are continuing to show strength as Thursday's trading enters the afternoon.

Transportation stocks continue to lead the advance, while retail and housing stocks are also performing well. The S&P Retail Index is up 4.7 percent, while the Philadelphia Housing Index is up 3.8 percent.

Meanwhile, banking and tobacco stocks continue to be some of the only noteworthy losers on the day, with the S&P Banks Index down 2.6 percent and the Amex Tobacco Index down 1.2 percent.

Currently, the Dow is up 43.33 at 7,793.14, the Nasdaq is up 29.70 at 1,558.65, and the S&P 500 is up 5.96 at 819.84.
