RTTNews - Stocks moved higher at the start of trading on Tuesday, with the major averages seeing some further upside after showing a strong upward move over the course of the previous session. The initial strength came as traders continue to react positively to the slew of earnings news.

With better than expected earnings from DuPont (DD) generating some buying interest, chemical stocks are seeing significant strength. Energy, health insurance, and housing stocks are also seeing early strength, although losses by bank stocks are limiting the upside for the markets.

While the tech-heavy Nasdaq has pulled back well off its high for the young session, the major averages currently all remain positive. The Dow is currently up 65.45 at 8,913.60, the Nasdaq is up 3.70 at 1,912.99 and the S&P 500 is up 4.52 at 955.65.
