RTTNews - Stocks have moved to the downside in early trading on Friday, with the major averages sliding into negative territory after ending the previous session moderately higher. The initial weakness is partly due to a pullback in commodities prices.

With traders cashing on the recent strength in commodities, resource stocks are seeing significant weakness. Healthcare provider, biotechnology, and semiconductor stocks are also posting notable losses in early trading.

In the past few minutes, the Nasdaq and the S&P 500 have seen some further downside, while the Dow has edged up off its low for the young session. The Dow is currently down 35.15 at 8,735.77, the Nasdaq is down 16.17 at 1,846.20 and the S&P 500 is down 5.90 at 938.99.
