U.S. stocks fell further on Friday, sending the S&P 500 and Nasdaq down 1 percent, as investors fretted about fallout from the Obama administration's proposed restrictions on banks and a delay in confirming Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke.

* Financial, technology and materials sectors weighed on the broader market.

* The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was down 82.30 points, or 0.79 percent, at 10,307.58. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was down 10.86 points, or 0.97 percent, at 1,105.62. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was down 26.60 points, or 1.17 percent, at 2,239.10.
