RTTNews - Stocks are showing a lack of direction in early trading on Thursday, with the major averages lingering near the unchanged line. Traders remain reluctant to make significant moves amid continued uncertainty about the near-term outlook for the markets.

Despite the lackluster performance being shown by the broader markets, significant weakness has emerged in the semiconductor, gold, and housing stocks. On the other hand, health insurance are once again posting notable gains.

While the tech-heavy Nasdaq has slipped well below the unchanged line, the Dow and the S&P 500 are currently posting modest gains. The Nasdaq is currently down 8.24 at 1,799.82, while the Dow is up 7.03 at 8,504.21 and the S&P 500 is up 0.22 at 910.93.
