A&E pulled out all of the stops for the 2015 Critics’ Choice Awards, including a surprise cameo from “Storage Wars” star Dan Dotson. Following an explosive season of the network’s reality program, the TV auctioneer appeared alongside actress Rene Russo to help present the Lifetime Achievement award to Kevin Costner.

“When I was asked to present Kevin Costner with his Lifetime Achievement award I didn’t know I would have laryngitis,” Russo said onstage at the 20th annual show in Los Angeles. Sporting an scratchy voice, the “Nightcrawler” actress revealed that the network wanted her to rattle off Costner’s 50-plus films and numerous accolades in one-minute during the show as part of the award presentation. So, naturally, she called in for some backup.

Thankfully for the film star, she was able to rest her voice when Dotson appeared onstage. Using his auctioneer skills, the longtime “Storage Wars” star rattled off dozens of the 59-year-old award-winning actor’s most memorable movies including “Swing Vote“ and “Dances With Wolves.”

“I’m not a speed reader, but I’m a fast-talking auctioneer and I know every one of Kevin Costner’s films. Everyone of them,” Dotson said. “You don’t have to twist my arm. You don’t have to ask me two or three times. I’m happy to come up and help out!”

In the middle of his act, Russo interrupted Dotson after he gave mention to the 1997 musical comedy “Tin Cup.”

“That’s a really good movie,” Russo, who co-starred with Costner in the film, said. “And he’s a really good kisser. I mean, he’s like a really good kisser. He’s like… dude.”

“You’ve got to stop it! I’m supposed to be staying focused up here,” Dotson responded.

Despite being interrupted by Russo mid act, Dotson was able to successfully name all of Costner’s most notable films. After the skit concluded, Costner received a standing ovation from the audience.

“I don’t know where the time has gone and I can’t help but think there has been some kind of mistake. Like this isn’t for me. Like, I’m really accepting this for Sean Connery or Jean Hackman because they couldn’t be here themselves,” Costner said. “However this happened, however my name found its way, stumbled onto a list of actors of a certain age that happened to be in town, I’m humbled and honored by your selection tonight.”
