Sunday’s episode of FX’s “The Strain” saw Abraham Setrakian and Vasily Fet procure enough silver to make a casket for the Master. They plan to trap the leader of the strigoi in a box made of silver and lead. Season 3, episode 7 also revealed that Fet’s grandfather was forced to shoot Jews by none other than the devious and heartless Thomas Eichhorst. What will happen in the upcoming episode?
With the series inching towards its finale, “The Strain” will certainly pick up the pace in terms of storytelling. With the airline’s black box in his hands, Dr. Ephraim Goodweather/Eph (Corey Stoll) and his new sidekick Dutch Velders (Ruta Gedmintas) will attempt to analyze the Master’s voice. However, the synopsis of Season 3, episode 8 teases that the strigoi leader’s voice will prove to be more powerful than either of them imagined.
In fact, the Master’s voice proves to be fatal. The promo of the next episode, titled “White Light,” indicates that the Master’s call to arms proves to be deadly to Dutch. She is seen falling down when it is being played.
While Eph and Dutch conduct their experiments and locate the deadly strigoi leader, Fet (Kevin Durand) and Setrakian (David Bradley) will focus on tracking down the cargo that came through a ship from Egypt. The professor thinks the ship’s cargo might have had the remaining Ancients on board. The Master may have got them to the New World. The synopsis teases that once the hunters find out what the cargo really is, they realize that they may be in over their heads.
Elsewhere, Quinlan (Rupert Penry-Jones) strikes a deal with the Ancients. But a last minute betrayal will prove to be deadly.
There is also a lot of suspense regarding the Master’s new vessel. Hopefully, we will get to know who the new host is soon.
