Suge Knight has made a name for himself in the music industry and he won’t have anyone tarnish that. The former music producer, who is currently serving time in prison for both murder and attempted murder, is taking steps to ensure he is accurately portrayed in an upcoming movie about his ex-wife Michel’le Knight.

According to TMZ, Suge’s lawyer, J. Tooson, has warned Lifetime to refrain from including certain aspects of his life in the biopic “The Michel’le Story.” The film will spotlight Michel’le’s wild life by Suge’s side but Tooson told the network they will not stand for defamation at any level.

Few details are known about “The Michel’le Story” at this time. On May 17, Deadline reported that the network cast Rhyon Nicole Brown — who viewers may recognize from “Lincoln Heights” — as the film’s star. R. Marcos Taylor, who played Suge in “Straight Outta Compton,” will reprise his role for “The Michel’le Story.” The film will also feature Curtis Hamilton as Dr. Dre, who worked closely with Suge during the early days of his career. The film is being produced by Sony Pictures Television and Thinkfactory Media.

“The Michel’le Story” was first announced in April. The Boombox reported that Lifetime wanted to highlight Michel’le’s R&B career as well as her private life with Suge, now 51, and ex-boyfriend Dr. Dre. The “No More Lies” singer reportedly suffered abuse from both men, which continues to be a point of contention to this day. “The Michel’le Story” is the third of it’s kind. Lifetime also produced a film about Whitney Houston titled “Whitney” and one about Aaliyah, who died in 2001. Neither was particularly well-received by viewers.

“The Michel’le Story” has not yet received a release date. Will you be tuning in?
