Sunseeker Yachts is bucking the tides of the economy most swimmingly. The England-based yacht manufacturer reports that it is paddling mightily to fulfill its incoming orders. While the recession is depressing sales of numerous boat builders worldwide, the sales of yachts by the 40-year-plus yacht manufacturer are up. Sales in the U.S., in particular, are on the rise, as the company recently announced that it is teaming up with yacht-brokerage firm Atlantic Yacht & Ship to better service the influx of clients from America.
Atlantic Yacht & Ship will commandeer the sales efforts from Maine to the Carolinas for Sunseekers from its new facility in Mamaroneck, NY. The venerable half-century old yacht brokers will shore up sales of new yachts as well as previously owned luxury vessels. The partnering with AYS enables Sunseeker to better anchor its presence in U.S. waters. The proliferation of yacht maker's popularity in America has been phenomenal over the past decade, according to Ryan Wood, a yacht broker at Atlantic Yacht & Ship.
We've noticed a big increase of younger buyers, who are attracted to the forward-thinking style of Sunseekers, said Wood. One model that is particularly popular with the younger buyers is the Predator. It's all black and silver; it looks like a Lamborghini. Ryan's enthusiasm toward the Predator was heartfelt when he proclaimed. People freak when they see it live.
Sunseeker's yachts range from 47-foot sport cruisers to up to 46-meter triple deck superyachts. The firm's flair for dynamic styling and usage of bleeding-edge technology has culled quite a loyal following over the years. The company's track record for repeat sales to satisfied yachtsmen is extraordinary.
