“Supergirl” director Kevin Smith has tweeted a new photo of Chyler Leigh and Floriana Lima from the Vancouver set of the CW series.

Smith, who is currently directing Season 3, episode 5 of the show, posted the picture on Twitter after a Sanvers fan reached out to him asking for a photo of Leigh and Lima. Since Smith is a Sanvers shipper himself, the director granted the fan’s simple wish in no time.

In the photo, Alex Danvers (Leigh) and Maggie Sawyer (Lima) can be seen standing close to each other. They are staring at each other’s eyes and seem to be on the verge of kissing.

This isn’t the first time Smith has directed Leigh and Lima together. Smith directed the two for the first time in Season 2, episode 9, and once again in Season 2, episode 17.

In an Instagram post he shared back in February, Smith declared for the first time that he, too, is an avid supporter of Sanvers. “We shipping #sanvers, son!” Smith captioned a photo of him with Leigh and Lima. “I got to watch @chy_leigh & @florianalima work their magic on @supergirlcw. The Alex and Maggie storyline has made a serious difference in the lives of some of the fan base, so much so that @glaad nominated #supergirl for outstanding drama series. Credit goes to the honest emotional reality the @supergirlwriters bring to the scripts every week, as well as these two amazing actresses’ abilities to make us believe their characters are falling in love.”

Although Lima isn’t returning as a series regular in Season 3, executive producer Greg Berlanti assured fans that they are not going to see less of Sanvers in the upcoming installment.

While at a reunion panel for “Everwood” at the Television Critics Association’s press tour earlier this month, Berlanti said that he doesn’t think the change in Lima’s status on the show would be noticeably felt by viewers next season. “If any character people love is not there as much as they want them there, they’re going to be upset that they’re not,” Berlanti said (via Entertainment Weekly). “[So] I’d say we will use [Floriana] as much as we can.”

“I think [Floriana is] wonderful on the show, and she’s got some real ardent fans, and she should,” added Berlanti. “Of course we wanted more of her. But she’s got other things in the hopper and other things she wants to consider. We’d love to have her back as much as possible.”

“Supergirl” Season 3 premieres on Monday, Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
