“Pretty Little Liars” alum Chad Lowe has landed a guest-starring role in Season 3 of CW’s “Supergirl.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, Lowe will appear as Thomas Coville in Season 3, episode 4, titled “The Faithful.” Coville is a charismatic leader of a religious cult that worships Supergirl (Melissa Benoist). Described as a deeply spiritual man, Coville is committed to preaching his faith and transforming his followers’ lives.

During the show’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con last July, it was announced that Season 3 will introduce the character of Ruby (Emma Tremblay), an “independently minded” resident of National City whose obsession with the Girl of Steel ends up putting her in grave danger. Does Ruby’s fascination of Supergirl somehow lead her to joining Coville’s mysterious cult? Only time will tell.

Aside from appearing in Season 3, episode 4, Lowe — who previously directed several episodes of “Pretty Little Liars,” “Life in Pieces” and “Bones” — is also set to direct Season 3, episode 7 of the superhero series.

Lowe is the latest addition to the growing list of series newcomers in Season 3 of “Supergirl.” He joins previously announced new cast members Tremblay, Odette Annable as big bad Reign, Adrian Pasdar as ruthless real-estate developer Morgan Edge, Yael Grobglas as DC villainess Psi, Carl Lumbly as J’onn J’onzz’s (David Harewood) dad M’yrnn J’onzz, Erica Durance as Alura Zor-El and Izabela Vidovic and Olivia Nikkanen as young versions of Kara and Alex, respectively.

Lowe, who is the younger brother of actor Rob Lowe, is best known for his role as Byron Montgomery on Freeform’s “Pretty Little Liars.” TV viewers also remember him for his starring role as Spencer Winger on NBC’s “Spencer,” his Emmy-winning performance as Jesse McKenna on ABC’s “Life Goes On” and his recurring roles on NBC’s “ER,” Fox’s “Melrose Place” and CBS’ “Now and Again.”

In addition to his upcoming stint on “Supergirl,” Lowe will also be seen next in this year’s comedy film “Walk To Vegas,” which is directed by his “24” co-star Eric Balfour.

“Supergirl” Season 3, episode 1 airs on Monday, Oct. 9, at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
