President Olivia Marsdin’s (Lynda Carter) return to “Supergirl” will get J’onn (David Harewood) in big trouble.

In a recent interview with TV Insider, Harewood revealed that J’onn finds himself in a difficult position when President Marsdin asks him for a favor in an upcoming Season 2 episode of the CW series.

“She’s asking me not to do something, and I do it,” Harewood said with a laugh when asked about Carter’s return to the show. “It’s something involving Supergirl (Melissa Benoist). I disobey the President in order to help Supergirl, [because] at the end of the day she’s his [figurative] daughter, and family first.”

While Harewood mentioned that J’onn is “going out on a big limb,” the result of the character’s decision remains unknown. “I’m waiting to see what my consequences are,” Harewood said.

President Marsdin made her first appearance in Season 2, episode 3, in which she visited National City to sign her alien amnesty act. However, President Marsdin’s true motive for signing the act became unclear when it was revealed at the end of the episode that the she is also an alien.

In a Facebook Live Q&A hours before the airing of her debut episode, Carter said that she had a great time shooting the episode. “I think it was the whole experience,” the original Wonder Woman actress said when asked if she had a favorite scene from the episode. “It’s like asking a singer what their favorite note is. I think it was the embodiment of the character living inside the skin of something that you give life to.”

Carter will reprise her role as President Marsdin in Season 2, episode 17 of “Supergirl.” But since Benoist said during a Q&A with fans on The Huffington Post’s “Build Series” last January that Carter was signed on for “more” episodes, it’s likely that President Marsdin will appear in other future episodes of the season.

“Supergirl” airs every Monday at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
