A sneak peek for Season 2, episode 6 of “Supergirl” revealed a connection between Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath) and Parasite.

In the 40-second clip, Hank Henshaw (David Harewood) and Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) lead a team of DEO agents into an Arctic research facility where they find bodies of people and a wolf that all look “like something sucked them dry.”

As they further check the perimeter, the team discovers Dr. Rudy Jones (William Mapother) lying on the ground. Although he’s still alive, Alex says that he’s “got into shock.” Hank, a.k.a. Martian Manhunter/J’onn J’onnz, then decides to take him to the DEO.

As avid DC Comics fans know, Rudy Jones is the second character to become Parasite, who is one of Superman’s most formidable foes. In the comics, Rudy was a janitor at the Pittsburgh branch of S.T.A.R. Labs who transformed into Parasite after he was exposed to a strange form of radiation. Since then, his body has been in a constant state of hunger for energy, leaving him with no choice but to absorb other’s life energy.

As for Rudy’s connection to Lena in the CW series, the sneak peek suggests that Rudy is an employee of hers, as the Arctic research facility the doctor was working at is named Thorul. According to Comicbook.com, Thorul was one of the monikers Lena used in the comics when she no longer wanted to be associated with the Luthors.
