The Department of Extranormal Operations (DEO) has a new headquarters in Season 2 of “Supergirl.” Although the facility is new to Kara (Melissa Benoist) and to the viewers, the new base of the top-secret governmental organization has been there for quite some time now.

In a video featuring an interview with David Harewood, his character Hank Henshaw, also known as Martian Manhunter, brings Kara to the new DEO headquarters for the first time.

“Where are we?” Kara asks Hank when they arrive at the doorsteps of the facility located at the top of a building.

“The Department of Extranormal Operations,” Hank replies.

When Kara asks why she never knew about the facility before, the Martian refugee simply says: “DEO has several facilities, Kara.”

It turns out that even Kara’s adoptive sister Alex (Chyler Leigh) knows about the facility long before. “It’s like a block from my apartment,” she tells the Girl of Steel.

In the promo clip, Harewood reveals that he’s “thankful” to the new look of the DEO. “What happens this season is we see just the different facilities that the DEO has,” the 50-year-old British actor says. “Maybe a bit more light to it, a bit more glass. Just keep it changing, keep it bright, keep it different, keep it exciting.”

As for what fans can expect from his character this season, viewers will see Hank embrace himself more as the Martian Manhunter with help of Miss Martian (Sharon Leal).

“[Hank] is suddenly going to have this connection to Mars that he’s been lacking for the last 300 years,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told Entertainment Weekly. “He’s dealing with survivor’s guilt, and he’s spent the last few hundred years burying that. It’s only because of his interactions with Kara and his deepening relationship with Alex that he gets to start to tap back into that. The arrival of Miss Martian is really going to open the flood gates.”

“Supergirl” Season 2 premieres on Monday, Oct. 10, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW. Check out the synopsis for episode 1, titled “The Adventures of “Supergirl,” below:
