Jeremy Jordan as the Guardian

It looks like Kara (Melissa Benoist) is going to be the last one to discover that James (Mehcad Brooks) is actually the Guardian.

In the latest “Supergirl” episode, Kara met the Guardian for the first time while battling the Predator. After defeating the alien parasite, Kara tried to find out the identity of the Guardian through the use of her X-ray vision. But since the vigilante’s costume is made of lead, the Girl of Steel wasn’t able to identify the man behind the mask.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg was asked when Kara is going to learn about James and Winn’s (Jeremy Jordan) secret, and his answer seems to suggest that other members of the team will find out about it first before her.

“It’s a little bit like when Chandler and Monica started dating [on ‘Friends’], every episode somebody else found out and they had a surprising reaction,” Kreisberg teased. “Not everybody is going to find out at once. Some people are going to be supportive; who’s supportive is going to be surprising. Some people are going to be incredibly unsupportive thinking James and Winn have lost their minds; their identities will be interesting.”

In a separate interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jordan revealed the first character to find out about his and James’ new nighttime gig. “I think it’s safe to say that Alex [Chyler Leigh] is going to be the first one to figure it out. She’s not stupid,” Jordan said of Kara’s foster sister.

Although it seems that Alex isn’t going to react positively to the pair’s vigilante work in Season 2, episode 7, Jordan said that Alex, Winn and James will still work together to protect National City from all forms of threats in the episode.

“She’s going to definitely have her opinion about the whole situation,” Jeremy teased of Alex’s reaction. “But, at the same time, we have some serious bad guys coming up in this episode [so] regardless who thinks who should be a superhero or not, they have to ultimately work together to take down the bad guys.”

“Supergirl” Season 2, episode 7, titled “The Darkest Place,” airs on Monday, Nov. 21 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW. Check out the synopsis for the episode below:
