“Supergirl” actress Melissa Benoist opened up about what it was like filming the much anticipated “Invasion!” crossover event with a bunch of other actors from “Arrow,” “The Flash” and “Legends of Tomorrow.”

“It’s really exciting to have everyone in one place,” Benoist said in a new behind-the-scenes interview for the four-night crossover event, also called “Heroes v Aliens.” “There’s a weird feeling to be in a room with a bunch of people wearing superhero outfits, and it’s not like a costume party [feeling] … it’s a cool feeling.”

And although Benoist had a little difficulty flying in front of everyone for the first time, her co-stars were all cool about it. “There were few really awkward attempts,” admitted Benoist, who plays Supergirl/Kara Danvers. “So I did kind of fall on my butt a little bit in front of everyone, but it was fun. It was a supportive atmosphere.”

During the CW superheroes panel at Entertainment Weekly PopFest last month, Benoist also shared how she felt about temporarily joining the “Arrow”-verse for the crossover event. “It was so fun to just be in this big group setting,” the “Glee” alum said. “It was like this infectious environment. It felt really cool.”

At the same event, Greg Berlanti — executive producer of all four shows — said that all the actors appearing on the crossover event got along so well on the set that the team spirit amongst them shows onscreen.

“I’ve watched it. You guys haven’t watched it yet. But you all seem like you like each other onscreen,” Berlanti told Benoist, Grant Gustin (The Flash/Barry Allen), Stephen Amell (Green Arrow/Oliver Queen) and Caity Lotz (White Canary/Sara Lance) just minutes before the start of the CW superheroes panel at EW PopFest. “There’s a lot of camaraderie and there’s a real sense of family amongst them when you watch it.”

The crossover event kicks off with “Supergirl’s” Nov. 28 episode and continues on “The Flash” (Tuesday, Nov. 29), “Arrow” (Wednesday, Nov. 30) and “Legends of Tomorrow” (Thursday, Dec. 1). All four shows air at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
