The much-awaited reunion between Kara and Mon-El is coming soon.

In a recent interview with Den of Geek US, “Supergirl” star Melissa Benoist revealed that Kara (Benoist) will be reunited with Mon-El (Chris Wood) in Season 3, episode 7 of the CW series. The installment, which airs on Nov. 20, will see the team investigating an alien ship that has crash-landed deep underwater beneath National City.

“It won’t be the reunion you expect. It’s pretty mysterious,” Benoist said of the first meeting between the lovers since the Prince of Daxam escaped Earth in the Season 2 finale.

The mysterious feel to the reunion may have something to do with the fact that when Mon-El comes back, he’s no longer the same guy the team and the viewers knew before. “He’s going to be a very different Mon-El than what we saw last year, largely due to the whole mystery surrounding where he went and what he's been doing,” Wood revealed to TV Insider last month. “It definitely affects him. He’s been somewhere, doing something.”

“They’ve sworn me to secrecy on specifics,” Wood continued. “But there’s going to be a big change in him when he comes back [and] that worries the team.”

While Mon-El’s whereabouts is being kept under wraps, Wood said (via Hidden Remote) during a roundtable interview at San Diego Comic-Con in July that when viewers “do find out what actually happened to Mon-El, where he ends up going and what happens next, it’s going to be pretty satisfying.” “I think it brings some really exciting new areas to the show; I think the fans will be really excited,” Wood added.

One of those new exciting things is the arrival of the Legion of Super-Heroes. In the comics, Superboy put Mon-El in the Phantom Zone when he was fatally poisoned by lead. Mon-El stayed there until Brainiac 5 discovered a cure in the 30th Century, and this led Mon-El to become a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes.

Earlier this week, it was announced that “No Tomorrow” alum Jesse Rath was cast in the recurring role of Brainiac 5. And last September, it was revealed that Bollywood star Amy Jackson was tapped to play Saturn Girl, a founding member of the Legion of Super-Heroes.

More members of the Legion of Super-Heroes are expected to be cast soon, as Season 3, episode 10 is seemingly set to introduce the superhero team. “Episode 10 is called ‘Legion of Super-Heroes,’ and you can’t call it that without having the Legion of Super-Heroes in it,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg recently told TVLine. “We’ve hinted at the Legion going back to Season 1, when we saw the Legion ring in the Fortress of Solitude, so the Legion will have a presence.”

“Supergirl” Season 3 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
