Fans will learn more about Saturn Girl in this week’s episode of “Supergirl.”

In a recent interview with TVLine, Amy Jackson said that Season 3, episode 11 of the CW series shows Saturn Girl to her “full extent” as she teams up with Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and her former enemies Livewire (Brit Morgan) and Psi (Yael Grobglas) to launch a new attack against Reign (Odette Annable).

“She’s not just someone’s wife,” Jackson said of her character, who is married to Mon-El (Chris Wood). “She’s one of the founding members of the Legion of Super-Heroes. She’s kind, she’s an idealist — and she’s powerful.”

Jackson added that the episode is a “major turning point” in the battle against Reign, as the hour will make the viewers realize that the Legion’s introduction to the show is “not all about the love triangle” between Saturn Girl, Mon-El and Supergirl, but is more “about superheroes coming together to accomplish the task at hand.”

In fact, Jackson said that Supergirl’s acceptance of Saturn Girl, aka Imra Ardeen, is “almost more important than any of her other relationships.” “I love the way Saturn Girl looks at Supergirl,” Jackson said. “[Imra is] from the 31st century, where they literally have statues of Supergirl. That’s her icon, her idol, so to be able to meet her in real life is so special.”

While the show isn’t focusing much on the love triangle between Saturn Girl, Mon-El and Supergirl, Jackson told ComicBook.com that she knew what she was getting into when she agreed to play the wife of Wood’s character.

“I was a fan of the show and was also a Karamel (Kara and Mon-El) [shipper] before I even signed the show,” Jackson said. “But I think because I did my homework about the character itself, I knew I was getting into a sticky situation because it’s already formed a relationship beforehand with Mon-El and Kara.”

“But I know that Saturn Girl is going to be very appreciated and loved because she is a strong character in herself,” the 25-year-old actress continued. “I think … there’s a bond between Supergirl and Saturn Girl, which is nice. It’s not all directly about the relationship and being Mon-El’s wife. I think that’s a totally different side to what people have seen before. I’m excited for people to see that, and to hopefully be accepted more into the ‘Supergirl’ world.”

According to the synopsis for this week’s episode, Supergirl, Saturn Girl, Livewire, and Psi head to Fort Rozz to recover a prisoner who has information on how to defeat Reign. Meanwhile, Alex (Chyler Leigh) babysits Ruby (Emma Tremblay).

“Supergirl” Season 3, episode 11, titled “Fort Rozz,” airs on Monday, Jan. 22 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
