Jeremy Jordan as Winn

Winn’s (Jeremy Jordan) love for Lyra (Tamzin Merchant) will be tested in a huge way in tonight’s episode of “Supergirl.”

In Season 2, episode 16, Winn finds out that Lyra is actually a thief. “She uses Winn to break into an art museum, saying, like, ‘Hey we’re just gonna have fun’ — and they do have fun,” Jordan told TVLine with a smile. But when Lyra uses her extraterrestrial powers to steal a priceless painting without being detected by security cameras, it’s Winn who gets in trouble with the law.

While it remains to be seen whether Winn will end his relationship with Lyra right after the incident, Jordan said that his character definitely feels betrayed by the Starhavenite.

“Winn is feeling very deceived by Lyra, somebody he’s put his full trust in and fallen very fast and very hard for,” Jordan said. “It goes down a pretty dark path. Winn and Lyra’s future is definitely up in the air after this big deception.”

According to the synopsis for the episode, Maggie (Floriana Lima) tries her best to get Winn out of the clink, but “old loyalties get in the way.”

Meanwhile, due to what happened between him and Lyra, Winn finds himself turning to Kara (Melissa Benoist), who also happens to have been deceived by her boyfriend Mon-El (Chris Wood) in the episode.

“There is a really nice connection between Winn and Kara in the episode,” Jordan said. “By the end of the episode, they do have something to really connect with — this idea of being betrayed and double-crossed.”

But it seems that Winn and Lyra will eventually find their way back to each other. Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed to Entertainment Weekly last month that Lyra will be joining Winn and James (Mehcad Brooks) in their nighttime vigilante gig.

“Winn, James, and Lyra have a really funny story in [episode] 18 too, where the three of them try crime fighting as a trio, which doesn’t necessarily go well,” Kreisberg said. “She kind of becomes the Yoko of the team.”

“Supergirl” Season 2, episode 16, titled “Star-Crossed,” airs tonight 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
