Sweden-focused gold mining company Gold-Ore Resources Ltd. said Thursday more than doubled in the third quarter on higher gold prices.

Profit climbed to $5.5 million from $2.3 million in the year-earlier period on revenue that climbed to $17.2 million from $14.1 million.

Gold production fell to 9,302 ounces from 11,021, a 15 percent decline.

Gold-Ore's primary asset is the Bjorkdal Gold Mine, which has produced 1.04 million ounces in the last 23 years of operation.

Shares of the Vancouver-based company rose 3.7 percent Thursday.
