RTTNews - Wednesday, the Statistics Sweden announced that the industrial production dropped 21.2% year-over-year in April, compared to the 22.1% decline in March, revised from 22.9% fall reported initially. Economists were looking for a decline of 20.5%.

On a monthly basis, industrial production decreased 2.1% in April, after falling 2.5% in March, revised from 2.8% drop estimated initially.

During the February to April period, industrial output fell 7% compared to the previous three months period.

Separately, the statistical office said the industrial new orders decreased 30% year-on-year in April, compared to the 20.6% fall in the previous month, revised from 20% fall estimated initially. New orders increased 0.4% compared to the preceding month.
