RTTNews - Tuesday, the Statistics Sweden said in a report that the jobless rate stood at 8.3% in April, same as in March. Moreover, the jobless rate came in line with economists' expectations.
In April, the number of unemployed persons increased by 110,000 from last year to 403,000. At the same time, the number of employed decreased by 116,000 to 4.46 million. The decline in employment was mainly seen in the private sector. The employment rate moved down to 64.3% from 66.7% in the previous year.
Meanwhile, the number of hours worked on average totaled 132.3 million per week. After adjusting for calendar effects, the number of hours worked fell by 3.2% in April from the previous year.
