RTTNews - Thursday, the National Institute of Economic Research said in a report that Sweden's consumer confidence increased for the second consecutive month to minus 9 in June from minus 11 in May. Economists had expected a reading of minus 8.8. The confidence indicator was minus 21 in April.

The business confidence indicator improved for the third straight month in June. The index rose to minus 19 from minus 24 in May.

At the same time, the manufacturing confidence increased to minus 31 from minus 34 in May. Similarly, the confidence indicator in construction, retail trade, private service sectors improved in June.

Meanwhile, the economic tendency indicator stood at 79.4 in June, up from 77.6 in May. But, the sentiment among firms and households is still considerably weaker than normal, the NIER said.
