RTTNews - Thursday, the Statistics Sweden announced that the consumer price index or CPI dropped 0.4% year-over-year in May, compared with a 0.1% fall in the previous month. Economists were looking for a decline of 0.5%.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.1% in May, slower than the 0.4% increase last year. In April, the CPI was up 0.2%. Economists had expected an increase of 0.1%.

The CPIX annual inflation stood at 1.3% in May, slower than the 1.4% in the previous month. The CPIX rose 0.3% compared to the previous month.

The harmonized index of consumer prices increased 1.7% annually in May, slower than the 1.8% rise in the previous month. Month-on-month, the HICP rose 0.3%.
